Electric Stimulation
Electric stimulation uses electrical pulses to penetrate muscle tissue and spark the process of contraction and relaxation. This fully relaxes tense muscles because when they begin to tighten, they pull the bone and surrounding bones out of normal position.
After five minutes of electric stimulation, the knot is able to release, taking stress away from the bones that the muscle attaches to, dramatically releasing dull pain.
Myofascial Stretch
Myofascial stretches are used when adhesions of muscle begin to tighten the muscle and create the feeling of knots throughout the body. Stretching, combined with Graston Technique, allows Dr. Hewitt to reduce those adhesions and begin to relax the muscles so less discomfort occurs.
Graston Technique
Similar to Gua Sha, an ancient Chinese therapy, Graston Technique releases adhesions in the spine by using a small metal scraping tool to break up muscle tension within and throughout the tissue. Chiropractors often refer to this as “scraping.”
Webster Technique
The Webster Technique is particularly effective for pregnant women. With it, we are able to analyze the sacrum and then correctly adjust it to relieve painful symptoms in the lower back. Once joint dysfunction is restored, the baby is able to relax more, descend properly, and ease the pregnancy process. The mother feels less back pain, decreased sciatica, as well as lessened inflammation and edema. Typically, expectant mothers also experience an overall sense of relaxation.
